Reality would not only be what it is, what it reveals in truth, but would also be its double, its shadow, its image.
Emmanuel Levinas
Accessing this house is going through micro hills of grass, stone walls, and glass panels veiled by translucent armor.
The house is made up of various elements of the landscape. What welcomes us when we arrive at the site where they chose to build, is a hill; and the landscape that man has intervened. There is the articulation of organic and geometric volumes. There is a trunk axis and there is shadow and there are branches and there is the sky. There are walls that rise from that trunk axis like the blades of a large windmill.
Shadow and wind; the necessary to inhabit the summer village where this house was built.
The shadow is that part of the environment that is felt in the body and is perceived, but escapes the tangible, and flees from our intention, so we build it, then create it. Because without it this territory becomes a little more hostile. The built environment offers care and safety. Shadow sometimes reveals other forms that light hides. The shadow is also a reflection, by default.
The volumes that detach from the axis house the private areas where one rests and reflects. In the center of the house, under the branches that extend from that big tree, are the shared social areas shaded by a catenary.
And there is water, water that caresses the space that is inhabited.

About the Architects:
“We understand architecture as a human process of infinite improvement that is verified through trials. We take each project as an opportunity to experiment and test new spaces, ideas, and technologies. We deeply believe in the capacity of human beings to ‘Improve’ themselves and improve their environment, in a process where creation and the creator blend and mold each other.”
